OK. This week I went on exchanges back down to the promised land (Tracadie) where I was with Elder Jason (Guadeloupe) who leaves at the end of this month for his house.. While in Tracadie, we had a cold situation. It started off us, driving to visit a few potentials. Neither answered, so we went back to the 2014 Silverado aaaand. DEAD. Would not start. It was -22 and the windchill brought it down to just below -30. We knocked doors to find a jumper cable but nobody had one and really nobody answered the door either... We then sat in the car and prayed about what we should do, five minutes later we thought about calling potentials in the area book. Then a guy ran out of his house and yelled for us to come with him in his car, so we did. He drove us to just about every body shop in the region and NOBODY had jumper cables. So we returned to our truck and continued calling. We called a guy who was met in MAY 2014, so MONTHS in the past. He answered and he came and jumped our car with in 10 minutes:) It was the first miracle of that morning... THEN he invited us to his house at the moment while our truck charged.. 2nd miracle. He was terrific. No doubt in my mind that the Tracadie missionaries will be baptizing him soon. Just wow. Prayer.
Also, last week our primary investigator committed to January 24 to be baptized! She is over 2 weeks clean from smoking and has no desire to do it ever again. Pretty crazy week. Super exciting. Our church got cancelled yesterday as well because of the snow! THERE'S A LOT.
Spider man quote in D&C... 82:3 "For of him unto whom much is given much is required......" HAHA love you all like crazy nuts! But also think about the scripture a bit.. every one of you has a lot, now do something about it! It's required.
Oh yeah, pray for Elder Portellano and I. This week is going to be a big one. This is some sushi... and a selfie while emailing:/ sorry mom the camera breaks in the cold! I'll take some this week though I promise:)
Bonne Anné! Je vous aime!

Bonjour a toute ma famille et mes amis :)
This week was bizarre because of yesterday.. I will explain later haha.
Our Christmas Tree with presents from home
To start merry christmas everyone I love you all:) Our primary investigator came to church for her 6th time in a row... how rad is that? Also, she is three days clean of smoking and has smoked 1 time in the past 6 days! She is doing soooo good! Seriously the lord knows how to touch the hearts of people. She was smoking three packs a day!!! And in the past week she has only smoked once!!! Her mother still smokes all the time buut we haven't showed her the program yet.
I got kissed by a dog a few times and it was great:) We were at this investigator's house and he has a dog named "Timmy" because he was found as a puppy outside of a coffe store called Tim Hortons hahaha.. he got me a couple of times. Another one of our investigators compared us to the ninja turtles and I was the red one. We got a new car again.. The truck got sent to Tracadie and we now are driving a 2013 Impreza.
Ok, now for the weird thing. So, the mission has been using a lot of Facebook lately with winter. So we were on our area page last night talking to people and this one girl messaged us and was talking about how she missed meeting with missionaries and asked us to come over the next day (today). She then told us over Facebook that she wants to be baptized. Really Elder Portellano and I just looked at each other with a loss of words... we looked her up in the area book and she was taught almost two years ago and she came to church a bunch but disappeared... but reappeared now so we are teaching her tonight! Sounds like South America with people asking to be baptized though... ;) love you elder owen;)
"If we want to have a living, abiding faith, we must be active in the performance of every duty as members of this church." - Joseph Fielding Smith
"And we did magnify our office unto the Lord, taking upon us the responsibility, answering the sins of the people upon our own heads if we did not teach them the word of God with all diligence; wherefore, by laboring with our might their blood might not come upon our garments; otherwise their blood would come upon our garments, and we would not be found spotless at the last day." - Jacob 1:19
Faith without works is dead. So get to work! Do your duty and you'll find your own salvation.
Love you all! especially jango
