Transfers

This week I was on exchanges in Amherst, a small city on the boarder of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. I spent the day with Elder Craig, from Arizona, who is currently serving in the Bishopric as one of the Counselors and his companion is the ward clerk haha.. difficult callings as you can imagine. We spent a lot of the time visiting some of the less/not actives that lived in the outer parts of the city and were able to find a couple of really really good part member families who they will be teaching. We also met a world famous architect.. He is 93 years old and he designs churches.. First of all his house was awesome, second of all he was one of the architects who helped out with the Paris France Temple! His name is Keith Graham, he was awesome.

Our investigators are struggling a bit currently, which is a bummer.. They haven't been keeping commitments which is tough as well, even after they have been taught and retaught.. So, if things don't progress this week we will unfortunately be dropping them, which is definitely one of the hardest things to do is tell someone that you can't come teach them anymore because they aren't willing to put in the effort to know and act on that knowledge. So if you could, keep our area in your prayers!

Congrats to Dusty and Carls on officially getting married.. it was a long engagement of like 4 years. Congrats to Aubs for taking state in the 1600 and the 3200 and setting a state record!! #bangbang Love you all, joyeux noel :)

Sorry mom/dad, I suck at pictures haha but enjoy this seagull and I really cool place next to the architect's house.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

Salut toute la gang!

This week was a pretty fun one. The last couple of days we went into down town Moncton with the other elders and set up a booth for Mothers day. We met a lot of interesting people... ranging from a less active family from the west coast to a man that very well could have been Cain, and a group of guys riding their "Harley Davidson" bicycles that were super super cool.

As far as investigators go, we are still teaching the 20 year old and his 17 year old gf, but they didn't come to church because he plays lacrosse -_- (just another reason why it's not a cool sport sorry Drew and Sco) We will be teaching them the importance of church and the Sabbath day on Tuesday. Our French investigator we will be meeting this week on Thursday, unfortunately he found his way into less desirable false doctrines that we will probably spend most of our lesson resolving. Unfortunately, as soon as someone starts coming unto Christ and his church, immediately the devil and his millions of slaves start to attack wherever is weakest until they get into the foundation. This is why follow up is important as missionaries, this is why we read the scriptures daily, we pray always and why we go to church each week, so that we can remember the covenants we have made with our God to take upon us the name of Jesus Christ and always remember him. You can only entertain one thought at a time, and if you always entertain thoughts of Christ and his gospel there will be no room to doubt.

Interesting thing I found this week while I was reading..
14 And it shall come to pass that my people, which are of the ahouse of Israel, shall be gathered home unto the blands of their possessions; and my word also shall be gathered in cone. And I will show unto them that fight against my word and against my dpeople, who are of the ehouse of Israel, that I am God, and that I fcovenanted with gAbraham that I would remember his hseed iforever.
When I went to the Bible dictionary and Topical guide for the Abrahamic Covenant, it speaks of how his descendants will ALWAYS have a promised land. The book of Mormon is an example of God fulfilling and continuing to fulfill his promise with Abraham so long ago by giving each of us a "Promised land" whether that be in this life, or the next.

I hope you all read daily, it is the iron rod doncha know :)

Love

Some of the posters that people would sign for Mothers day.. we actually handed out half a dozen or so books of mormon by having them on the table while people signed.. was fun

May the Fourth Be With You.... 5/4/15

Last week ago in a mission far far away,

We had some ups and downs this week, a few of which included getting dropped by a lot of our new investigators at the return appointment which wasn't too fun. BUT we were able to start teaching a 20 year old and his girlfriend. We contacted him while we were visiting potentials and formers from past missionaries a year+ ago and the lady who lived there originally moved, but he was there and we talked to him a little about who we were and he just invited us right in! It was great. He then told us how he was born catholic, became Baptist, but hasn't been going to church for a while and has really been starting to question if God was really there. By the end of the lesson, he was super excited to come to church and his girlfriend walked in and become super into it as well. They both kept talking about how they felt like they were supposed to meet us because it was the one free time that they happened to be home and nothing to do. We are super excited about them and will be meeting with them tonight as well:)

We had a lot of miracles this week as well. We finally got in contact with a few LA members who invited us back (we didn't even have to ask) which will be great. There was 78 people at church! This is 6 more than last week and when we first got here we were averaging just below 60, so the sun brings people back to salvation here in Canada. Weather forecast: It snowed once, rained three times and now today its a toasty 23 degrees B) suns out and nice winter white short sleeves out:)

We went to an open market on Saturday for the first time and holy cow were there people there. It was like all of Canada rallied to Dieppe! Unfortunately our contacting consisted of people asking the "who are you question" so we wouldn't get kicked out by the police but it was awesome.

I got to spend a day with one of my two grandsons (mission grandsons) from Tahiti. He is like 6'5 so street contacting with him was awesome because everyone was looking at him. He doesn't speak a lot of English yet as well because I was with him for his first day before he went to get trained by Elder Darche in Bathurst, but he had an awesome street contact that turned into a potential. He just said "Hey, I have a message for you." and the guy came over.. it was awesome. Also I had my first Poutine and Donaire this week.. Poutine is  "Canada only" french fries with tons of gravy and cheese. Every missionary is obsessed with it but really it's just ok. BUT Donaire is sandwich heaven if you get a chance look it up it's delicious. As far as pictures go, sorry mom haha. I didn't take like any. But I did see an eagle and I took a picture of him so here is a big "AMERICA" for everyone. Love you all,

Elder Argyle
