Great week and a Visit to Lunenburg
What a week! This week was one of the coolest weeks ever. I'm going to start at the end because that's what I'm so excited about:) Johnathan, our on date, is progressing like crazy. He is keeping the word of wisdom and he loves church. He had some friends last week inviting him to go drinking and he shut 'em down! He talked to a few on Sunday morning and told them that he is changing his life and he can't be around them anymore.. Like holy! Reminder, he is 21... Ok and he came to ysa church on Sunday, got up and bore the most powerful testimony I've heard in many months, talking about how he has felt the spirit and how thankful he was to us to have met us and how he knows the Book of Mormon is true. So cool. Also two other investigators, Troy and Ryan(Chinese) came. Troy's dad was a minister or a pastor in Ontario who recently converted and Ryan is as knew to Religion as it gets. They both had great times at church and all three made comments during Sunday school:) SO COOL. Also another returning member we are working with bore his testimony for the first time since he was 12... It's just been an awesome week!
Last week was fun as well because we went on exchanges with Elder Portellano (my son from the beginning of my mission) it was really cool to see how good of a missionary he has become. We have both grown so much haha..
Fun story of the week. We were knocking and this 80 or so year old man's door and he comes out and gently grabs our ties and shakes us and starts swearing at us both.. We were so close to laughing but it was the funniest thing that has happened in a contact for me. It was slow motion haha
This morning we went to a tiny German village called Lunenburg.. We were taking a visa missionary there before he leaves for Salt Lake City in his called mission. It's pretty sweet and I'll send you the pics:)
Other awesome things... We took Wayne a recent convert to the temple. Fredericton took Yan and we did baptisms! So I got to see Yan come to the temple and his exact words about it were, "When I'm at church I feel peace, but in here I feel like, oh man this is holy!" It was really cool.. An unforgettable experience for sure:)
We didn't have to do much other than missionary work this week, but one thing I learned from President Pratt is the importance of getting information. He never makes any calls until he has all the info that is necessary. For instance, he asks us how missionaries received a training on member work, and then gets personal thoughts and impressions and then makes the decision. It's been awesome to see the inspiration. Called of God by all means.
Je vous aime! Mangez vos legumes!
