Well. This week was just a good one, is all I can say... just incredible. It went really quick too. It like feels like just one day. To start it off my new comp is Elder Portellano and he is from Marseilles in France. He is very stylish hahaha. He is super cool. He had seen snow once in his life until he came here and now it's every day hahahaha.
So Thursday we woke up at 5:00 AM to go pick up all the new missionaries in Moncton at 9:00. The Bathurst District recieved 3, all native French. One from Quebec (Elder Darche) one from Belgium (Elder Snickers) and France (Elder Portellano) Elder Darche speaks English and French but the others just French. It's awesome. Elder Snickers looks like a movie star and dresses like one too and Elder Portellano is the fashion king and there will be a pic of him here... Super cool guys:)
So we got another foot of snow here:) YAY WINTER. Elder Portellano and I drive a 2014 Chevy Silverado *vroom vroooooom* It's a beast. I forgot our new address though...
Cool experience happened Friday... So in the morning I trained Elder Portellano on the importance of talking to literally everyone, at the store while you're shopping, walking in between houses and all that... and that night he talked to the cashier who is now a new investigator! and progressing! We met with him Saturday, Sunday and now we will be meeting tomorrow as well! He is super cool, from the Congo and speaks the coolest sounding French in the world. So needless to say I am proud of (Elder Portellano). Also, the other French elders just left me a t-shirt that is handed down through the ages.. It has names, dates and all the names of the missionaries.
This week has been great, really cold but super fun. We have found a couple people we are teaching and we just cleaned the Baptismal Font yesterday to get everyone ready! Just to put in perspective how long its been since there has been a baptism here.... there was 3 spiders and all their webs :) so the font is ready and so are the investigators! We will be inviting the guy from the Congo, tomorrow so we will see how it goes:) My scriptures for ya today are in Jacob 6. It talks about the vineyard and the servant and the master working to bring forth good fruit. Eventually all the trees go bad and bring forth bad fruit and in Vrs 48 the servant realized that it was because the branches grew faster than the roots. AKA the trees didn't have a strong foundation. You can't expect anything to last if you don't build it on top of something that'll last! love you all have a great week because I know that I will!
love,
Elder Argyle
