Winter Upon Us!

Last week we got another big storm of a couple of feet, but it isn't adding up at all like it was last year... it is almost Utah weather haha.. Big storm, followed by a warm day where most of it melts... But its been fairly cold the past couple of days, we got down to -20 which still isnt anything compared to last years -54. I'm eternally grateful for a better winter this year haha:)

Greeny (Elder Iacopucci) is doing awesome. He is hilarious. I think we get a little carried away having fun when we are out and about sometimes. He is also a genius and a super super good teacher, way better than I was at any point of my mission. His French is improving as well, its hard to speak French to him all the time though, because our third companion, Elder Allsop the Great, only speaks English. So we have a few hours that are dedicated to the Language of Francais every day.

Some cool things about last week, I ran into another Muslim who wanted to learn more. His name is Mohommad and he is from Sudan. He is an older guy. We aren't sure if he will have the real intent part in learning, but we will be able to find that out soon enough, probably this week:)

Yan, is on date to get baptized! This is a huge deal and it will happen. He has came to church every week since we started teaching him, and we taught him Friday night whne it happened. We were teaching him about prayer (which was completely different than the original plan) and it finally clicked. He paused us during the lesson and said, "Wait a minute, I need to think about this for a second.... I feel really like weird, I dont know how to describe!" So we paused for about 5 minutes and he spoke up again and we taught him that that was the spirit teaching him. It was awesome! We then invited him to be baptized and he asked if it was "required" by God and of course we said yes. He then said he wanted to do it in Febuary:) So we are working towards the 20th. Keep him in your prayers! This is huge for him because he never had a belief in God when we first started:)

Odette, Our French teacher from Edmonston that we knocked into last week while trying to contact a referral, came to church yesterday. It was super cool because sister Hatt, her fellowshipper, turned around and told her to come sit by her and gave her this big hug and then followed her to the classes and lead her around the church the whole day! Odette loved it too! We are quite hopeful for her:)

We went on visits down to St John NB last tuesday as well, it was pretty fun. We worked with Elder Astle (This is for Dennis) and Elder Hovey. They are both awesome missionaries.. Those two being in the area has been a big blessing because the area had been struggling for a while and is now starting to pick up real good:) We had some really interesting contacts down there including one where a lady let us in to teach her about the family but her house was pretty messy so elder Iacopucci in his sweet kind innocent way said, well maybe we can come back another day. I was so sad hahaha we could have taught her.. but the Elders will go back to visit her:) so no big deal..

Elder Iacopucci gets the weirdest experiences I've seen. His first door knock on Tuesday was a drunk guy in his underwear hahaha... He has had more awkward moments in his 2 weeks than we have had in our entire mission hahaha

We met with President Pratt and talked about the zone a little bit yesterday because they were up to do an interview with an investigator the sisters are teaching.. He told me what is going on with Edmonston right now, the ward closest to it (caribou maine) wants something to open up there which will take a few of its members, probably 10 or so of them, and we want it to open, the members in edmonston want it to happen for sure, but we have to wait for the stake:) So things are looking pretty bright. As to if Ill get to open it, I am not sure.. Talking to President yesterday he has a few others in mind right now. but who knows:)

je vous aime tous!:)
