We were without a car all last week and It'll be out of the shop today at 3... which will be amazing to have again haha.. kentville doesn't have enough people to be walking everywhere. We took the bikes out for as long as we could.. and then it snowed haha. But its all melted again and its pretty close to 0 degrees so its staying warm-ish. I don't know if I mentioned this last week, but the climbing gear is broken on both of the bikes, so going up hills was rough hahaha.. it really made me feel out of shape.. But it worked out because we are still alive and not sore.
Tuesday we had Elder Steimle and Elder O'Brian over for exchanges. It was a pretty sweet day because we were able to get tons of referrals and we had two Dinner appointments set up. We have been teaching the members a lot about the Book of Mormon and then committing them to hand one out and its been really cool. As we teach and testify every time you can't help but to feel the spirit flood into the room and by the end of the lesson each member had a special someone in mind that they could give a BoM to.
We also taught CJ last week, he is someone who was taught here a few months back and fell off the table for a while.. He is 18 and his family is from Barbados! We had a couple lessons with him last week and in all honesty they have been some of the most spiritual lessons I've had on my mission! The first was teaching about Jesus Christ and the Restoration of His gospel and the second was on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the priesthood... During both lessons I felt the spirit testifying so strong and he is talking to his family about baptism now. The member we had with us did an awesome job of testifying as well and actually invited him to church to watch us all sing in the choir ('Im part of the choir but I don't sing loud enough for anyone to hear me or Id be kicked out hahaha) He came to church Sunday as well:)
We had a lot of really cool experiences last week excluding the ones I have already mentioned.. Like:
1) Elder Thompson fell off his bike
2) knocked on a door and was let in to a family of witches. weird situation...
3) Got referred to a lost member by a random guy who didn't know that the person was a member
4) Was told I looked like spiderman a few more times
5) Got invited to dinner with a non member during service.. we are going to eat at his house tonight:)
Throughout this month we have also been studying a lot of talks and chapters about Jesus Christ. We have made it a point to testify of him and there were a few times that stand out right now... One of them was when we were walking around late at night trying to get to appointments (1st world missionary probs when your car is broken) and this lady that we street contacted said that she was atheist and not interested.. we didn't push it any further but when we asked who she knew that we could talk to about Christ, she asked us, "do you really believe in all that?" and I was surprised at how the conversation changed... I answered her saying, "Yes, I really do." In a nice way.. not a sarcastic or mean way and then she started asking questions about why and how and it turned into a really great contact..
I love you all and thanks for your emails:) I can say to you that I love my mission, I love Jesus Christ and I know he is our savior and I know that this is his work:)
enjoy the pics...
oh yeah I also found the Campbell of Argyll tartan...
Je vous aime
